Noble Neighbors agree that we don't agree - on many things! But we do agree on this: we want to work together to make our neighborhood more safe, friendly and attractive to everyone. Our posture for politics is to respect everyone's right to vote according to their conscience and, we hope, their educated opinion. We've developed an election forum structure that helps people become better educated about candidates and issues by submitting our main questions to the candidates and position representatives ahead of time. We want to hear how well they are preparing and doing research on the matters of concern to us as a neighborhood.
The audience is asked to agree to a social contract, a code of conduct for civility. Our audiences have responded very favorably to that social contract expressing appreciation that they focus on the presenters without distraction by vocal opposition (or harassment!) from other audience members. We, in Cleveland Heights, Ohio, can be very passionate about our local elections!
