The celebration of people and places in
the Noble Road neighborhoods

the Noble Road neighborhoods
of Cleveland Heights, Ohio
Talk about challenges! Try to plan an event with a wildly changing pandemic landscape - with all volunteers. Can we expect "normal" soon? Are we headed towards another lockdown? Are the vaccinated numbers high enough? What about all these new virus strains? Needless to say, the consensus of those who have communicated with Noble Neighbors Central is that we're reluctant to gather. On the other hand, the biggest delight is to learn how many of you still want to sport our pride in our neighborhood. So, we present We Are Noble 2021 as an opportunity to ReDiscover who we are and where we are in spite of our covid challenges.
We're opting to stay distanced while connecting virtually.

ReDiscover Places
Take a long, leisurely look at our city's centennial website, www.clevelandheights100.com Click on the Explore tab and find the Noble-Monticello tour. Load up your car with your family or vaccinated friends and find these features!
Spend time walking and driving in areas of our neighborhood beyond your well-worn routes. When you spot something amazing, interesting, unusual or remarkable, post it to your social media using #wearenoble2021. We can look for each others' postings!

ReDiscover People
While you're out and about ReDiscovering your neighborhood, be purposeful about striking up conversations with new folk that you meet. Learn why they chose to move to this neighborhood. Find some interest or life situation that you have in common. Create a new connection. It's the neighborhood network that holds us together and makes us stronger.
Our front doors, windows and yards are important connection points. These visible features link neighbors outside our homes to us on the inside. Use that connection to create a type of smile and a wink to let your neighbors know you think about them. For example, every person who tends their yard well does this for two reasons. Of course, we like to enjoy our own well tended spaces, but we're also saying to others that we care to give them a lovely view, too. As you travel the neighborhood (perhaps best done more slowly on your walks), look for those details that someone has created to offer a point of beauty. Maybe it's a window display, a flower pot, a bird feeder, a flag, a garden sculpture or simply a well cared for front porch and lawn. Consider it a smile and a wink to you! Notice how many, many people quietly care about their neighbors through the care of their connection points.
Pay special attention to your own connection point and imagine, better yet, truly understand that you are giving smiles to your neighbors with all the good attention you give to your home. To give others an additional wink, post a We Are Noble sign in your window. Scroll down this page and find the printable sign.

ReDiscover Potential
This celebration weekend, we look at our neighborhood through the lenses of potential. And my goodness, don't we have lots of opportunities for development, improvement, beautification and community development!
Be part of the ReDesign - describe your dreams and ideals for places and people-connection features in our neighborhood. Tell us your ideas that are imaginative, creative and delightful. Help fuel the on-going conversation about what this neighborhood can become. As we continue to offer the wide array of creative problem-solving ideas to our city officials, we help direct them to work towards neighborhood features that fit us best.

There's an easy way you can be part of the solution immediately. Join your neighbors in picking up litter. Yes, focus on your own street, but do consider committing a half hour sometime this month to pick up litter in a more public place - a park, school playground, the Monticello medians, or any of our more traveled sidewalks. The army of you is growing. Recently, a woman I've never seen before picked up litter on my street. Thank you! For those who have been doing this quietly for years, the change in our neighborhood is noticeable. We're seeing that more folk are picking up periodically and that point of beautification is certainly adding to our growing sense of neighborhood pride. It's contagious! Thank you all!
