Circle K rezoning proposal for a 24-hour, 16 pump filling station and convenience store
denied by City Council

With deep gratitude to our Cleveland Heights City Council, we are pleased to announce that council voted unanimously to deny the rezoning proposal that would have changed two residential lots on Vandemar into commercially zoned parcels. Circle K wanted to rezone these two lots, tear down the houses and build a large convenience store with 16 gas pumps. As of tonight (March 7, 2016), they cannot build the project as planned. We will continue to watch to see if they revise their plans, appeal the decision, or abandon the project.

CJ, Ian and Geri - there's a Noble Neighbor One-Clap Kudo waiting for you at our next meeting!! You all did such tremendous work on this issue!! We are all so grateful to you.

While there is an overwhelming voice in opposition to this development proposal, what is lacking is a viable alternative. Do you want to see the building preserved? We need an investor or an investment group that would be willing to fund the renovation and restoration. Would you be willing to see another type of revitalization project? Bring your idea and your funding plan to the property owner. His phone number is listed on the signs at the property. Stopping a bad proposal is a good thing. Causing positive, beneficial forward motion is an even better thing.
